Heavy Handling expands and enters Antwerp market

Starting 1 May 2014, Heavy Handling, the distributor of heavy machines from Oudenaarde, will be opening a new branch in Antwerp, which will act as prime location for the distribution and service of its products to Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxemburg.

Heavy Handling is not new on the Belgian market, they have been very active in the western part of Belgium, more specifically East- & West-Flanders and Henegouwen and they did so with great success. The results and ambitions have fuelled a natural expansion, which is being supported by their supplying brands. They will now serve Belgium and Luxemburg as a whole, this both for the sale of machines and parts, as for rent and service.

To support its growth, Heavy Handling will open a building in Antwerp, which will serve as a central hub for service, spare parts and stock of machines together with the headquarters in Oudenaarde. Staff numbers have increased as well: close to 10 extra technicians have been hired.

The expansion brings plenty advantages of scale. The Belgian customer gets a broader support network and a single contact point. The organization of the service department will be greatly improved and better spread over the whole territory. In general, knowledge is bundled and further specialization can be achieved. From the commercial side, there is a clear vision and a plan to boost sales volumes and the rental offer also enlarges. All this is good for customers, whilst also reinforcing the distributed brands.

Heavy Handling provides total solutions to process the flow of goods, with a strong focus on heavy lifting equipment. Besides forklifts and reachstackers from Konecranes Lift Trucks, the offer also includes material handling and port cranes from Mantsinen and wheel loaders from Ljungby Maskin.
